Hail And Rain

With a huff and puff

They blew my house down

Down to the ground

I’ll have to rebuild

Begin from the foundations

Restart back up

Spread the pebbles and sand

Friends will give me a hand

Pick-up the broken sticks

Nail them back together

Then they’ll be mortar and bricks

The reconstruction will be long and hard

My new home will be solid as a rock

But she’ll never be the same

Through all this hail and rain

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. Now Ivor, are we talking about your home here – ‘cos the weather here has been pretty stormy and would have headed your way. OR are we talkin’ bout you? Either way, rebuilding is good πŸ™‚

  2. Good Morning Ivor, (my morning) 6:30 AM here. Just having my morning coffee and thought I’d check in and see how you are.

I love your poem, you are so clever. I wish I had your way with words. It sounds like you’re feeling a little despondent today. Hang in there Ivor, it will get better. Any results yet? 😊

  3. OH! Carole’s drawing is lovely! πŸ™‚

And your amazing poem is filled with vivid word-pics and deep emotions.

Please don’t let the “storms and rain” that are deluging you right now get you down too down, Ivor…Remember: the sun will shine again for you soon! So, get out the sunscreen and your hat and be ready for the sun! πŸ™‚

Right now your road might seem long, long 😦 …and you are right…we won’t ever be the same after we endure sorrow and challenges (hail and rain), etc., but we can be changed in ways that will help us to help others along the road of life. πŸ™‚

    1. I’m trying to write, but it’s a difficult task on my little phone, and my right arm is quite weak, so I’m typing this out left handed, πŸ€—πŸ˜ŠI’m not able to get around to my reader, I’m afraid it’s just too hard for me ☺️ Hope you are keeping well WaltπŸ€—πŸ€—
