Cannot See

The tree is murky green

Beyond it’s cloudy grey

Like the heaven’s are caving in

Collapsing from below

From the devil’s chasm to the distant horizon

To the horizon I cannot see

I cannot see tomorrow’s colours

Nor the colours of today’s sky

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. I can only interpret this poem as a mind of confusion, not knowing where you are going next.
Good afternoon Ivor. It’s morning here for me and almost 06:15 AM. I’m wondering how you are and if you have had your tests yet.
Anyway, by the time you read this they will be over and done with.
I hope all went well for you. πŸ™‚

      1. Seems I’m also in a confused state today. I’ve had difficulty with sending replies so started jotting them in the notes section and then pasting into the appropriate post. I have just pasted a comment in a previous post and the same comment has gone elsewhere. Sorry about that,so I’ll start again
because I’ve no idea where the original comment for here has disappeared to!
Seems wrong clicking Like on your post! So sorry to hear that your heart tests have been postponed until tomorrow. The lumbar puncture does not sound very pleasant! Hope you have a good evening and a decent night’s sleep . See you tomorrow πŸ™‚

      2. Glad you’re coping Ivor. Don’t worry about the Spam I copied from the notes section and repasted. Though you might find the odd one or two of mine from previous comments! I frequently have difficulty in sending my comments, so now I keep notes open and type there as a back up. My Trouble this morning was I had a couple of your posts open and I pasted a reply into the wrong post! πŸ˜•what a plonker!

  2. The words of your poem and the lyrics to the beautiful song you posted, especially, “I’m gonna miss you all I need another place”, have me quite worried my brother. Please tell me it’s just a song and that you are just tired of your “world” in the hospital. Hugs and love to you dear friend, my brother in poetry. πŸ˜ŠπŸ’›
