I’m not to be told, how to live my life
I’ve lived this life, having lost my wife
I’m not a great philosopher
Nor a fashion writer
I’m not a sprightly young traveler
I’ve no money to buy a new carrier
Too old for a toiling plumber
I actually like penning poetry
Some say your never too old
Whatever, I’ll continue to be sold
my plans to reach for the stars
Where I shall walk my own crooked ways

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

I think I was trying to say my life has taken a crooked path lately π€π

I kinda like to lean a little crooked. Make life a lot more for and you and I know itβs too short!

Yes my path has become a little crooked lately, I’ll just have to follow all the extra twists and turns π€π

Rather than a pocket full of rye,
better to take a bottle full of Rye.
Happy New Year, Ivor.

I’ll be quiet with my bottle of Rye
No need for a tie
Shorts and thongs will get me bye
A new year tomorrow
A new beginning for me

You need a little bit of “dashing away with the smoothing iron” Ivor. The views of Australia on the video are great. Happy New Year to you, and good health for 2019.

I think it would be very difficult to walk a straight path among stars. I know the crooked walk is not always easy, but the writing with a twist can be very pleasing.

Twists and turns it shall be
To let me be free
To walk my stars
Crookedly and afar

The path ahead may have a few twists and turns but at least you know where you’re heading! π

Be careful what you wish for. I live a crooked life. Cant stand up straight due to a high degree of scoliosis, curvature of the spine.

Oh dear Walt that does sound painful, I’m hoping my crooked ways to be only a winding and twisted walking path.

You’ll be fine my friend, and so will I. I haven’t had much energy due to all the meds I’m on, so I haven’t been doing much reading. You know that I love you and your poetry. π

I could do with some energy pills, but we’ll survive Walt
