My time’s feeling lost and unrequired
Yesterday, I was worn and tired
Today, I did reach for the sky
Tomorrow, I’ll give life another try
Yesterday, I hit the brick wall
Today, I jumped every puddle
Tomorrow, hurdles will be castles in the sand
Everyday, my unknown future lays in my hands
Every-week, my dream looks like potter’s clay
Today, I uncovered tomorrow is the next day
Tomorrow, is not my vision of times to come
Tomorrow, is the beginning of my shining sun

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Well stated, this, the uncertainty of life and the need to keep trying, to keep moving forward when when you sometimes feel like you are going nowhere…

I love this poem Ivor. Every day is a hurdle and sometimes itβs hard to believe how far youβve come, but look at the last line such optimism, hope and determination that tomorrow youβll go even further! And you will! π

Wonderful heartfelt poem, Ivor! The images are so vivid! And I can relate to the emotions behind the words! π
Keep trying! Keep pushing! One day at at time! π You ARE triumphant! π
The ups and downs will always be a part of our life (and recoveries, etc), so we just keep trying to deal with the downs and we just keep celebrating the ups! π
I love how tomorrow is always a new day to conquer. π
I’m so proud of the progress you are making! I keep praying for you and keep keeping you in my thoughts for healing and recovery! π
HUGS!!! π
PS…your poem, photo, and song hit the spot today! π

G’day Carolyn, thank you for your lovely commentary. It’s 8.30am here, which means I’ve been in bed for over 12 hours !! I had a big day yesterday, a long walk (for Me), 2 sets of exercises, and 2 x 10min pedals on Yorkie, plus my Sunday house cleaning. I’m happy you liked my poem and the song, Nick Cave is always a fav’ of mine, and I found the song enthralling to listen to, and my poem is a bit of an anthem for Ivor, to inspire me to keep going !! ((Hugs)) xxx
