G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

The mark of an old soul is the desire to leave a legacy. The song is painfully beautiful, my friend.
Yes, and this song is almost a perfect example. and his opening line is superb
” Oh I’ll never get to that star
But I’ve seen the universe in a blade of grass”
Sean’s voice always touches deep…heart and soul. (This is one of my favs of his wonderful songs…and it always brings tears. I think we all want that…to leave something good behind.)
Like Sean’s songs, your poems touch deep, too, Ivor.
Thank you.
I don’t want to think about you tossin’ and turnin’ and not getting a good sleep. But, you certainly got an amazing poem out of all that motion! 😉 🙂

I was nearly rattling by the morning. I’m so pleased you understood the depth of my poem today,…….wow…….. if my words were as deep as Sean’s voice, I’d be ecstatic…. xxx
I love the way words come to you during sleepless nights. During my sleepless nights I try to shut down my brain from thinking about other people , shopping, tasks to be done the next day. It never gives up! 🙂
I’m feeling ok, it’s more the disappointment that I had another minor stroke, and I’m back in hospital having more tests. And so my problem has yet to be solved, 😁😎♥️🏥

go back to happy memories, good holidays, fun family times … words will still get you in a tangle and memories of your lovely wife only bring sorrow …

When emotions toss you and turn you in your dreams….out they tumble in your verses. I hope it helped shake them loose.
