Laying here on a hospital bed, life’s not quite right
Today’s window, isn’t in sight
The sun did rise, the day’s alight
Answering the sky, I’m a dreamer of the night
Morning thoughts of the day ahead, within this quiet
I could be in the park, flying my orange kite
Under a cool verandah, riding my silver bike
On the surf beach, cleansing myself of this blight
Soaking in seawater, sunbathing my body beyond white
Reality strikes, I’m here waiting for the next test’s bite

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Hope you’ve had a good day Ivor. Your poem reminded me of my Graham, he ‘d ignore the fact he was ill and would say β I could be doing all sorts if I wasn’t stuck in here!β π

The golf course is about 30 mins away, I’ve played there often. And I’ve swam at the beach a lot. The surf beach is actually called 13th Beach, which was named after the 13th hole at the Famous Barwon Heads golf course that is beside the 13th Beach golf course. It not to be so windy tomorrow.

Well it is a small world yes I saw the 13th in shot on a number of occasions during the programme. Let us hope the weather is kind on both courses for both the Ladies and Gents nice to see equality in the prize money. I’ll be there in spirit on the day.

The TV pic’s really don’t do justice to the golf course nor the beauty of the surrounding area

((returning hugs)) thank you Carolyn, for your lovely positive comments. I really appreciate your words. It’s been tough to stay confident and keep writing, while I’ve been coping with all this personal pressure. βΊοΈπ€. I love reading your wonderful stories about my poems, they all give me a happy smile. And I think we both definitely love music πΆπΆβ₯οΈ
