A sincere thank you to Efi, of EfiSoul63, << please click, to view her site, for being the inspiration behind my poem, and our mutual love of the sea
To Kiss The Sea
I wish to be at the beach and free
Saltwater and sand are out of reach for me
Oh, to be sunbathing and swimming
To be in the surf, playing and frolicking
I’m close enough to breathe the nearness of the sea
Just across the sand dunes and through the tea-tree
I wish to be under the sea
Rolling with the waves crashing above me
Swirling and unfurling
Bubbling and frothing
I’m close enough to hear the evening sea-mist
Just outside my window, I feel the bliss of the sea’s kiss

Oh! I love this one so much! I am really not so much a sea person but this poem can change my mind. I also love how you have mixed the senses – breathe the nearness, hear the sea mist – gorgeous imagery!

Sorry to hear you have been banned from the sea for the summer – that is rough! Next summer then, (or winter swims in a good wetsuit)?

Awwww !! Your words really warmed my heart! I will repost this poem my dear friend because i really love you and the sea!!!!!
Don’t worry we have more summers to enjoy the sea ..
After all in my country is still winter …come for the summer to Greece!!!!
A salt doll journeyed for thousands of miles over land, until it finally came to the sea.
It was fascinated by this strange moving mass, quite unlike anything it had ever seen before.
“Who are you?” said the salt doll to the sea.
The sea smilingly replied, “Come in and see.”
So the doll waded in.
The farther it walked into the sea the more it dissolved, until there was only very little of it left. Before that last bit dissolved, the doll exclaimed in wonder, “Now I know what I am!”

Oh, this is so beautiful, Ivor! Poem, photo, and song! It is snowing here as I type this. We may get as much as 18 inches. 😮 Your post brings warmth, smiles, and joy on this cold day! 🙂 Thank you! 🙂
HUGS!!! 🙂
PS…we used to live 7 miles from the Pacific Ocean…so I saw it every day. I missed it when we moved farther away.
PPS or PSS…next time you kiss the sea, give it a kiss for me!
