Love Comments, I Did Write

The ink of love in my pen

Runs endless and free

Obvious to those who feel and see

All life’s errors don’t happen

Through our fault

All life’s righteousness happens

Through our Kindness

Goodness is the quiet achiever

The underdog we all barrack for

The purest winner amongst evil losers

Our hope for better days ahead

Keeps the colours in our hearts alive

A locked heart

Needs a gentle key

At the start

I exist

You exist

Together on this land

Existence is grand

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. It was a response to some one’s story, of their protected, and how they’re defensive about opening their heart again. I sent these simple words and she loved them ❤️😊🤗

  4. The insight expressed in this poem, that “goodness” is stronger than evil would have skipped right over me at 18. About a year later, I would have gotten it. What happened? A woman, someone I managed to love. Ever since, I have felt that to see the truth of this poem — and so many, many other truths — one must see through the eyes of love. Otherwise, we tend to dismiss those truths in our blindness.

    1. Yes Paul, the words weren’t written blindly, they are written out kindness, and a they’re a collection of comments I send off to fellow WP poets about their works
