Hi Dear readers, just to let you know, I’m in hospital tonight, I had a bad afternoon, and they advised me to come into hospital. My Cat Scans were good, but keeping me here 2- 3 days under observation. Fortunately I’ll be ok 😊🙄
Resting on my pillow in the backyard willow
Under last year’s girlfriend’s bed-throw
Midnight’s gone, and I cannot sleep
I keep wanting to have a peep
I’m dreaming a vortex of dreams
The boiling kettle’s bursting with steam
I’m throwing out the fungus and cream
Empty coathangers, and the old fur coat beams
Politicians verbal shit in flowing upstream
Truth and lies tear at their trouser seams
Cancerous rhymes attack my open veins
It’s a dark cloudy night outside, who’s there to see the rain
The awakening dawn has no talking moon
And the morning sunshine needs a spoon
Daylight saving has begun too soon
My running shoes have walked out of the bedroom
Ivor Steven (c) 2019

Rest up & write, matey.
(Which, I see now, is as annoying as those
Keep Calm & Carry On things
that folk adapt to ever less humorous effect!)

Thanks Nick, I’m not sure what the poem is about, but it seems appropriate for the day I’ve had.

NO! Not again. On the plus side you are in the best place, yes, that’s another of those annoying sayings that everyone says to us.
Your poem does indeed sum up the way you must be feeling right now. Keep on writing Ivor and in the meantime, get well very soon. 🙂

I’m so glad you have the solid good sense to take care of yourself, Ivor. I never suspected you might not — but I know how neglectful we older men can be Don’t want anything happening to you, bro.

Hey Ivor, what a poem. You say you’re okay now, but are you really ok? Did you admit yourself to hospital or where you rushed there via ambulance? Hope all settles down soon. Take care, dear friend.

Thank you Kelvin, I was actually feeling quite poorly late yesterday afternoon, and I rang the nurse in charge of the Neuroscience Ward, and she advised to come into hospital, where upon arriving at Emergency I was admitted immediately in hospital. And everybody’s happy that I made the right decision. Today I’m feeling a lot better and have been having lots of appropriate tests, probably home in a couple of days, if all results being OK.

Are you okay with that, Ivor? Feeling that unwell must be so frustrating and frightening? What other emotions are you experiencing my dear friend?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yes Kelvin, it was quite scary, but I knew that I should ring the Neuroscience Ward, and it was frustrating at the time, but I’ve learnt that these events are of my control, and to look for the positives, like I haven’t had a major attack and it won’t stop me from getting to America. 😁😉And I’m so pleased and it’s so reassuring to have my friends support on WP ( (hugs)) Kelvin

Haha, yes I do get pampered, it’s the Neuroscience Ward, all patients are stroke suffers, and nurses here are more special than special. I talk to the nurses orderlies and cleaners, they all enjoy being a worker in the ward. 😊🙄

yes hospitals generally have a high turn over but sadly stroke patients have a tendency to return regularly so they get to know you better … your case is proof 🙂

Yes, there were even nurses that knew me from my 1st stroke 18 years ago 😉

Blue cheese and cream chase away the moon beams in wolf’s clothing with steamy tales of tails, chase with the boiling rain and angry drops tick-tock-ing an hour too early for the cow to jump over the moon resting in the cat’s sling-shot hummock, but of course, cats don’t scan the sky as well as a computer.
