Falls and crawls of energy waning
Glares and stares of eyes opening
Help and kindness of paramedics working
Clangs and chimes of sirens roaring
Awakening from a void of dreams
Visualising my spirit draining
Ins and outs of doorways slamming
Shrieks and shrills of voices screaming
Ups and downs of painfully surviving
Highs and lows of slowly recovering
Awakening from a void of dreams
Realising my life’s gradually healing

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

So glad that you crawled out when you did, in plenty of time to get fit for your adventures!

Yes, life comes and goes at a snail’s pace 🐌
Unless your running in some rabbit race 😎
Ivor, thought you might be interested ..
I first met James Reyne at the London
Tavern in Caulfield. He asked me to be
an Australian Crawl roadie. I think he
recognised a fellow son of the beach.
I declined for at the time I was hanging
with Shawn & James from The Models.
A few weeks later, ‘The Boys Light Up’ hit
the charts, and Australian Crawl became
the next big thing, and a Count Down
favourite. Yet . . . I have no regret 🙄

You’ve really captured the awful uncertainty, fear & anxiety of being taken ill suddenly & the commotion that ensues, even in capable hands! Thank goodness for your recovery, Ivor..it must seem like a bad dream, but onwards & upwards, things to do, places to see! 😊
