I’m in an isolation cabin
Like a waiting mosquito larva
Ready to burst
Surrounded by sand and sea
And a river mouth
Tidal and free
And I share my daily bread
A piece for you, for her, for them
Thoughts of you
I dream of now, and then
I see your flowered coffin
I’m tangled in a cocoon
Like an angry dragon-fly
Begging to break free
Surrounded by water-grass and weed
Tea-tree and Dunes, far as the eye can see
And a garden bed
Grown from seed
And I share my weekly menu
A piece for you, for her, for them
Thoughts of you
I stare down upon a fallen brave
I see your flowered cave

Was this from a dream Ivor? It feels other-worldly.

It’s an old one I rehashed tonight, and yes, it was definitely from a dream, when I wrote it nearly 2 years ago 😀

Wow. I’m starting to get a read on your dreams!!!!

It was about living in my parents home, with my drug dependent brother, my mum and dad had recently passed, and I was still grieving for Carole. On top of which my 3 year old relationship had ceased. And I was trying to create that old worldly times feeling, I’m not sure it worked, but I was so much in a tangle within myself. I look back and wonder, at how I got through it all. I just keep wondering and I keep writing

Isn’t that the miracle of our strengths Ivor? We don’t even know we have them most times, until we look back and see what we did. You are a marvel 😉

I know what you mean, yes our memories are always with us. although the pain has definitely subsided, sometimes my dreams are still so vivid, and now i smile at myself for having having such a wondrous ability to recall the those glorious times, yes, with a few tears of course, but mostly my heart is healed and my soul is happy to share her spirit. xxx

Yes, the images don’t have to be factually true, as long as the words convey the feeling of what I’m trying to say, thank you for reading Peter.

Thank you Kate, my health has definitely sailing on an even keel. I still working on my recovery, adult exercise group twice a, peddling Yorkie every day, and walking as much as I can, weather permitting. And I’m doggie-sitting Cyndi for the next 11 days, yeah.. She’s already made herself at home 😁 https://photos.app.goo.gl/cXHfn84ZNWxNKaz36

I’ve had similar experiences and there was a time in my life where I thought I would never be settled for the long term. Now I look at life as chapters in a book. Each one meaningful in its own way with some being better than others. I learned that I must live life to the fullest each day. Your current abode looks cozy and peaceful and you seem to be happy there. Lovely poem, Ivor.

I can feel the pent-up turmoil & unsettled feelings in your words, here, Ivor. You’ve moved a fair bit really, which is even harder when you’re grieving, and places hold memories for you. I hope you’re more settled now & feel calmer within yourself. It looks like a wonderful place to live! 😊
