There Is Something In Air

The music of Abbey Road is playing

Here I sit in Union Street listening

And there is something in the air

Sounds of words with honest flare

The Open Mic, poetry night

Again, at the Valhalla Bar site

The attendance, was a small downer

A cold winter storm, dampened evening goers

But the enthusiastic gathering

Enjoyed the writers readings

A mixture of poems and vocal songs

The entertainment flowed along

And I had time to read four poems

A range of my many emotions

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. It was a lovely evening Eugenia, and my recital of “My Dragon, The Trilogy”, had the crowd participating, with, ‘sighs’ and ‘cheers’ at the appropriate times during my poem….

    1. I really enjoyed the evening out…
      When I recited “My Dragon, The Trilogy'” the crowd participation was very heartwarming, with appropriate, ‘sighs’ and ‘cheers’ throughout my story, it was lots of fun… xx
