When Do We Grow The Next Tree

How many Waterloo’s  do we have to see

Before all the battles are lost at sea

How many children, have to cry and flee

Before humanity is able to grow Adam’s next tree

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. The photo is of an ancient oak from a little town called Pontfadog, in the north of Wales, said to be the oldest tree in England, 1,200 years old, unfortunately it blown over in storm in 2013… now you have inspired me to re-post my poem ‘Myfwany And Glenys’, about the town Pontfadog… you might remember it Colleen ….xx

      1. I thought I remembered it when I read it.

It’s like reading a book you know you read but while you’re reading it it’s as if you never did. So, it’s a new joy all over again!!!! ❤

  1. Yes, how many.
A very poignant, timely poem, Ivor. And your choice of photo and song are always RIGHT ON to make a powerful trio.
Trees are so important…and need water, sun, etc.
Children are so so so important…and need kind-care, respect, compassion, good role models, etc.
