Eyelids are heavy and tired
Overcome by the dazzle of razzle
My heart lays here empty
Softly yearning inside my chest
This mind of mine, feels worn and torn
Time is tick-tocking, constantly chiming
Ringing, between today and tomorrow
While the poets pen is scrawling
Knots on blue paper lines
Hanging them out, to dry and die
My arms are slowly fluttering
Searching for yesterday’s wings
As I continue to walk my journey
With this rusty and ageing limp
The lyrics of the ‘Airbourne Toxic Event’s’, song below, I think are profoundly outstanding, and well worth reading as you listening to the tune..

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

“knots on blue paper lines” is my FAVORITE line Ivor. I don’t know why but it really grabs me.

You touch our hearts, Ivor! Thank you!
Keep feeling her love! Let her love untie all the knots you feel! Let it bring healing, fullness, joy, rest, rejuvenation…to your heart, mind, body, and soul! Keep moving forward! 🙂
“It’s (always) better to love!” That song is THE perfect pairing with your poem!

I am always a latecomer to reading your poetry, and often can only say I agree with what everyone else has said. You’re on a streak, my friend. Awesome streak.

Thank you Claudia, it was one of the poems I read out at the Open Mic evening tonight, and I was fortunate enough to recite 3 more poems. The young poets were shy about getting on stage early on. 🎤😂😊
