Anniversaries, they come, and they go

Some time now, since that final May snow

Anniversaries, my soul does not let them pass

Some time now, I reminisce the last

Anniversaries, none ever forgotten

Some time now, since your everlasting smile was taken

Anniversaries flowed over coral, of every color

Some time now, since your last wave of valor

Anniversaries, when love grew stronger

Some time now, since the years became longer

Anniversaries, across, love, suffering and pain

Some time now, since our river flooded with rain

Your troubles fell, with an Autumn leaf

Forever enshrined, in our promises of belief

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

My mum and dad, my mother always looked gorgeously youthful, and it was 1976…… Thank you dear Carolyn, and I’ve been playing this beautiful song this afternoon….. you have to listen to the lyrics in second part, after the musical introduction of the first half…. enjoy… oh keep the tissues handy … xxx ((Hugs))

    1. Thank you Colleen, my day has been lovely, and I’ve felt relaxed all day, a few tears here and there, but that’s ok, Carole wouldn’t expect me to be any different…. ((Hugs))
