Dawn’s morning blue
Drowns me in droplets of dew
I slip into yesterday’s torn shoes
Damp, from last night’s dream of you
I’m late, not yet waking up
Drinking cold tea, from my “United by Blue” cup
Quickly, only time enough to catch the bus
But I stop! What’s all the fuss
They’ll always be the next one
And today, don’t forget to put a cap on
I’ll get there, twenty minutes later
Relaxed, not rushed and feeling betterer

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Love the title, photo, song and poem, Ivor! Good advice for all of us! π
Makes me think of what Mr. P. Simon and Mr. A. Garfunkel said, “Slow down, you move too fast You got to make the morning last Just kicking down the cobblestones Looking for fun and feelin’ groovy…” π

Definitely Carolyn… I’m learning to slow myself down, and not become anxious, over the trivial things that are not more important than my well being….. xxx

I’m learning…… I really have to keep to telling myself…… it’s been a gradual thing over the years (with counselling help)……. my life with Carole was always so full on….. xxxx ((Hugs))

One day at a time, Ivor. And if need be, one step at a time. I’ve found this works, especially when times are touch or rough or overwhelming. We all have to find our pace and go at it. I prefer something between a cheetah and a 3-Toed Sloth! Ha! π

I think we all need to slow down a bit. As difficult as it
is to do we can enjoy so much more if we do.
Hope your on the mend everyday more and more.

ππ» I was raised by parents from the depression. To sit and do nothing wasn’t on their radar. Their thoughts were … the more you work, the more you will be successful. It’s taken me a long time to sit and just ‘Be’. I believe there’s and art to doing nothing. Relax and Enjoy LIFE !!! π π
