Three years ago
On that day
I cried
I cannot forget
The death of a ladies man
When he found his, sisters of mercy
On this day, hallelujah
I now, fondly remember
By the rivers dark
In the land of plenty
Our, Field Commander Cohen
Singing from above, in his, Tower of Song
And below, I’ve attach the entire music/video of the ‘Leonard Cohen Memorial Concert’ from, Centre Bell, Montreal, QC, Canada | November 6, 2017. The video goes for 1 hour and 30 minutes, and is certainly well worth watching. Enjoy !!

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

I’m not keen on Elvis Costello, but have never particularly liked him anyway!

This brings tears. A wonderful tribute to honor an amazing singer and writer! He is a fav of mine, too.
I love how you used some of his song titles in your poem! Creative!
(I tried that once, years ago, in a tribute to another singer. It was fun.)
Thank you for sharing the concert!
We remember Mr. Cohen on the anniversary of his death! We celebrate his life! We celebrate his making this world an easier, better place. He has kept me company so many many many days and nights. I’m so thankful he has impacted my life and has left so much of himself here with us…he lives on forever. 🙂

I’m with you Ivor! I miss Leonard but I’m very excited about the new music that is finding its way out even after he’s moved on. I think ‘Happens To A Heart’ (which you introduced me to) is one of the best things he’s written in years. Thank you for sharing. T.
