A Poet’s Postcard
Dragonfly wings are open wide
Guarding greenery under her sky
Shading this wilderness courtyard
The old poet’s postcard
Full of eternal daydreams
Nurtured upon a flowerbed’s requiem
Now an empty ballroom’s finale dance
Melpomene’s* everlasting romance
*Melpomene, is the daughter of Zeus and Mnemosyne,Β initially the Muse of Chorus, she then became the Muse of Tragedy, for which she is best known now.

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Whoops I’m always pressing wrong buttons. I was saying, hugs 2020 times back to you. & Coop’s. Your comments and continual support give me great joy. Happy new year to you and yours. And of course I would be writing a poem to Carole for the new year. πβ¨ It’s been a good festive season for me, and I coped well. Just a little downer, that my Philadelphia niece Kerri (SMA) is hospital at the moment with phenomena, but I did chat with her today, and she hopes to be out next week…… she has a big piece of my heart over there in Philadelphia…. Whoops, tears…. Oh, I loved Coop’s new year’s post, I left a reply. πππ€ππ
