G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Ivor, I am so sorry for your loss. I understand how difficult this must be for you. Speak from the heart and she will understand.
Being unable to say goodbye and pay your respects must be disappointing. Perhaps there may be a later memorial service, it sometimes happens after private funerals.
I missed your good night message, I was at my Sunday poetry group this morning. And now I’m the beautiful Geelong foreshore on our Corio Bay, having a picnic lunch I had prepared for myself.. Catch you later šš
Thank you Sue, wow… I’ve just had a ‘nanna-nap’, it’s been a long day for me, and I did lots walking down at our wonderful foreshore area here, at the “City By The Bay”
Unusual is good prompt Sue, gives me plenty scope. And actually the poem I drafted at the foreshore, and the pic’s I took today, will be perfect…
I might not finish tonight, I’ve worn myself out today, but it’s the “making”. šššš
That sounds really lovely. I’m just doing boring stuff such as cleaning kitchen cupboard doors while I still have Sunday morning energy, but like you I could easily take a nap later! Rest well, Ivor.
Iām so terribly sorry, Ivor!! I feel for you that you werenāt able to attend the funeral. You can send the cars when youāre ready. Itās the thought that counts.
I know you will. Youāre a good person with a kind and thoughtful heart. Grief though is tough, and Iām sure the issue of the private funeral three you for a loop, too. Thoughts and prayers for you.
Oh my heart goes out to you. Perhaps you can simply write ‘without words’. Death is a tough one. Just being there for another in that time, even if in silence, can offer comfort. Sending light.
I am so very sorry to hear about this great loss in your life of a dear friend. š¦
Share your card and words when you can. They will be accepted, and appreciated, when they arrive.
I know from personal experience that those words are even more needed weeks after the death. Everyone else has gone back to life and when those precious words arrive, they are a life-line in the pain and grief.
You know too well the pain of a great loss…death of a spouse…so your words from your heart will be a great comfort to all who need comforting. Your words are valuable and important.
And when you need to…let yourself cry and mourn.

Your beautiful warm words have bought tears to my eyes, that’s ok, I need to cry,…… thank you Carolyn, and yes my heart will write a message of love……xxxxx

Send it when you are ready, my friend. Perhaps she is not ready to receive your loving words yet, either. There’s always a reason for a cosmic pause.
