Throwback Friday, A Distant Ship, by Ivor Steven

Hello dear readers and followers, here’s a re-posting of a poem I wrote in September 2017, I didn’t have many followers back then, so this for all of my new readers, and anyone who needs a refresher….

Am I afraid, or am I being slowly discouraged.

Dismayed by the emptiness of my quivering heart.

Am I consumed, or am I being bodily starved.

Eaten by the cells of my inner sentiments.

Am I infatuated, or have I been possessed.

Devoured by the recess of my lonely soul.

Am I swimming after the impossible love-boat.

Drowning in the wake of that passing icebreaker.

Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. Thank you Rhen…. It was from a time when I was through some bad guilt complexes …. so I think it was taken from from one of my hand written pieces, about Feb 2013….

    1. Thank you, I was going through some powerful emotions at the time, and really haven’t swum after the love boat again.. Just a couple of ankle deep puddles in the shallows… 💙🌏😊
