Gazing At The Amazing
Thor startles me out of slumber
And I’m sheltering under my verandah
Sitting here naked as the day I was born
Gazing at the amazing weeping dawn
Crying a bucket full of raindrops
Spreading sparkles with everyΒ wet plop
On the roof I hear a cascade from above
Big puddles are shimmering like leather gloves
Growing into a groundswell of high humidity
Soaking my body in sweaty liquidity
Then softly a caressing breeze cools my skin
While the courtyard garden’s sprouting wings
Nature’s evidence of the night’s heavy rain
And the heaven’s are opening up again

Oh, it was still very warm this morning… 25’C…. so I wasn’t that brave…. and I’m often scantly clad in my courtyard…. which is totally private…. except for a spying drone….!!

Not so brave Nanette, my courtyard is my castle, it’s very private. The whole process was to immerse myself in the conditions/surroundings of the morning and soak up the emotions I was feeling. I think my poem captured the event well πππ

Your courtyard gave you the ability to do this and embrace the emotions of the day which your poem reflects.

Thank you Nanette, and here it is 10.50am and I’ve just woken up…. sometimes I become so tired….. after being so emotionally drained…. so much of soul goes into my writings, my spirit and energy levels need a rest and a recharge….. this is one such day…. πππ€π
