G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

My cousins husband passed last night (Canadian cousins)
… It’s sad, he had a heart attack home. I’m ok, I phoned Maureen this afternoon…. Yep… I’ve a Philadelphia cousin named Maureen too.. but they are all younger than me.
And on the weekend I found out my brothers ex-wife, whom I have stayed close to.. her and Carole were good friends… her cancer treatment has stopped, and she’s now home… with her son and daughter……. again very sad…
I’m ok… I just get emotional.. they’re family…. ππ€π’
I am sorry, family are important and the sadness is much more difficult to bear especially when you are so far away from them. Seek comfort in words and music.
I’ll be ok,… a cousin’s husband passed last night, and my sister in-law’s cancer has been stopped, she’s too far gone, so she’s home waiting for her time…. It’s been a very sad time for me…. (and the death of my dear friend’s son 7 days ago)….. too many memory ripples arising from the sacred waters… ππ’π€
Oh, I am so sorry! I just lost an old acquaintance…a super sweet lady. And my grandmother is refusing more chemo for her cancer and just βriding it out,β so to some degree I feel your pain. You are experiencing a tremendous amount of heartache though and I am terribly sorry. Sending you positive vibes. Hugs!
Thank you for your kind positive vibes, and you too have your heartaches… but that is life… love, and, pain… and then we cope,.. and our journey resumes….
I’m an emotional guy…. who needs a good supply of tissues……. ππ’π€ππ
Life is often so sad. I’m so sorry. Hoping you find sunshine to warm your face and heart soon. Your poetry is always on the mark. You always make me feel.
It’s been a sad week Sue….
I went and visited my friend today, who lost her son 7 days ago…
We hugged, we cried, we chatted, I’m glad I made the trip to see her…… πππβ₯
So sad, Ivor! π¦ So very sad. π¦
Too many passing too soon.
Take the time to mourn…to mourn with those who are, also, mourning. And know that I add my tears, love, condolences, and (((HUGS)))
“There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are the messengers of overwhelming grief, of deep contrition, and of unspeakable love.”

Thank you dear Carolyn,
Today my wings took me my friend house, who had lost her son 7 days….
We hugged, we cried, we chatted, I’m glad I made the trip, we parted with another hug, and smile, ππβ€οΈβΊοΈ
Sometimes, our journey is very slippery…, hang on…. l’ll go get the mop…. a big box of tissues…. (for me)…. and unhitch “Itmims”…. he’s an amphibious space-craft. …. and that should get me through the next few weeks….. there’s always plenty of spare beach towels on board Itmims too…. so I’ll be to dry up my slippery path….. I’ll ring the bell, if I get too wobbly…… ππππποΈ
Ring the bells (ring the bells) that still can ring
