This morning I entered my garden
My own personal Eden
And softly caressed hope **
The star of my night’s telescope
The night sky
Cries goodbye
My star above
Cries for love
Our universe sings
On my angel’s wings
I dream of flying
My inspiration to keep trying
Come what may
Of nature’s ways
On wet or dry hay
Us lovers did play
Under a happy blue sky
After swimming the bay
And crossing a dying stream
I held onto our dream
In a field of flowering yellow
I heard our song on a cello

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

how sweet that she is called Hope, that’s a most pretty name for such a beautiful plant. Love the patterns on her sleeve. I am going to think names for my plants now, but they are mostly greens so maybe something more masculine!

Thank you Carolyn, yes my plant “hope” is really gorgeous, and my hope is alive, and I’m so pleased you enjoyed the music….. I searched cello pieces for hours….. and then suddenly, I luckily came across this piece….. the music, the video, the smiling characters in the video, and the overall meaning of hope throughout the piece, was totally captivating and gorgeous…. and I couldn’t stop watching, nor could I stop smiling…… It’s an uplifting piece I’ll be watching often ((Hugs))

Yes, I will be watching it again.
I love music like that. I especially love violin, flute, cello, guitar, etc. Wonderful combos can be formed. π

Yes, it was definitely worth the search, there’s lots of lovely cello string groups, but I needed something special for my poem… and this was perfect…. πππ€

Yeah, sounds like spring is going to be a lovely time for you, setting up your new garden. I moved into my / this new abode 3 years ago, it was Autumn, and I cleared my whole courtyard area, built my verandah, then gradually built up my plant collection, and the next year l built my fernery area. The whole process has been thoroughly enjoyable and therapeutic for me. π€πππ

I think Iβm going to have to do raised beds, but it should be wonderful to have our own veggies and lots of flowers for bees, hummingbirds, etc. There is definitely something incredibly soothing about it all. Iβm glad youβve been able to create your own flora-filled paradise. It sounds beautiful! And Iβm glad itβs been good therapy for you as well. π
