Jigsaw, A Thousand Pieces
Life can be a giant jigsaw turntable
The jumbled picture of a unique fable
Connected by shared oblique faces
Made up of a thousand little pieces
That have run a thousand different races
Curving around thousands of warm embraces
Thousands of handshakes and well wishes
Thousands of hello and goodbye kisses
Thousands of friendly smiles
Thousands of ups and downs along bumpy miles
Thousands of grieving fears
Thousands of emotional tears
Thousands of tears we do weep
Thousands of kisses go deep
Accepting patience and persistence
Gradually pieces start falling into place
Time heals those missing ones in grace
And finally the jigsaw falls into place

Thank you dear Colleen….. yes … a nearly completed jigsaw, with it’s missing pieces, deserves the same accolades, as the finalised puzzle….. they both require the same time and effort

Lovely, Ivor. Poignant too.
My kids love to put jigsaws together. This piece gives the activity a whole new meaning.

The putting together of a jigsaw is a peaceful and self indulgent way of escapism….. haha.. although I’ve never finished a 1000 piece puzzle…. “I always ended up with missing pieces”…. or should I say……. “I always ended with not having enough pieces”…. or maybe…….” I didn’t finish the puzzle, because I’d lost too many pieces”…….. LIFE IS BUT A JIGSAW……..

My kids are trying to talk me into a 3000 piece. I am not sure where to put it.
And life is…true that.

We once set up a 9000 piece, but that was just insane. I think we finished the border after maybe a year. We gave up after that.

So true! Life is exactly that way!
So we keep healing. We keep being grateful as pieces find their place. We continue to move further toward wholeness.
I’ve found sometimes we have to ask for help…another person might be able to help us find a missing piece. π
HUGS!!! π

An absolutely beautiful poem that describes all facets of life. I loved this post – will return later to listen to the song during daylight hours – always considerate of fellow apartment dwellers and noise factor.
