My Bridge’s Riverbed – Ivor Steven

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems. The original poem I wrote 7 years ago Rose, and then I revised it a while ago and this is the published result…. the essence of the poem wasn’t altered…. it was just after Carole had passed…. and life was hard…..but I’m here now and going ok…xx

Well it is beautifully done and really shows the hole left behind by the passing of someone we love. I feel that pain, Ivor, and even though it’s 7 years ago, I know that pain never fully fades, so you still have my deepest condolences. I’m sure she’s with you in little things all around every single day. ☺️

Well the poem was so sad it was hard to hit like (because of the subject matter, not because it was badly written). But that line really moved me.
