The muted day is ambling by
Grey clouds blowing in the sky
Banks of rain tears are flowing down
I’m sheltering under my iron crown
I wonder about today and tomorrow
When are we to reappear from our burrows
Winter approaches to cool the ground
Autumn colours are vanishing uncrowned
The super-bug remains lingering in the air
And Scientist are striving to snuffle this virus affair

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Yes Sameera, the situation is extremely difficult.
I’m finding it hard to explain my overall tiredness.
Isolation is mentally and physically demanding.
I hope you are keeping well, and staying safe π€π

it is a challenge, and with no certain end date or outcome, i think our bodies/minds/hearts just need to slow down from time to time in order to deal with it all

The calendar is marching into April and we are all sitting at home… I can so relate to your poem. On the other hand, our county has had a remarkable flattening of the curve so we are hopeful that we can resume normal activities by May – maybe…

And Ivor, I love Angus and Julia Stone! Their songs have this immense power to draw me from every situation and feel subtly happy. I so wish to come see them perform at Australia some day.

I’ve been happy with the grey skies here. Makes it less tempting to want to go out and do things. Though, I was JUST as happy to see the sun today. I am a complex individual Ivor. π I am going in my back yard just to be in the sun. Though it’s too early to plant anything. Doing my part to not spread that ol’ bug!!

You have a long winter Colleen. I’m still picking tomatoes off my “Rapunzel”. It’ll be 75’F today, and the sun will shine,… I seem to be writing a poem a day at the moment, and I’m doing a lot of blogging. I do my walk 30mins, my Phily exercise bike pedal 10mins, and my stretch and balance exercises 20mins, each day, so I’m keeping myself busy… happy isolation… stay well.. keep safe π€π

Thank you Ivor. We actually have had sun. I like winter but we really haven’t had much of it. THough a lot of grey days and rainy days, not the winter I like. For everything going on I am grateful to be well and continue to hope and pray for wellness for our world. I’m glad you are staying so active and creative. You have some wonderful things coming up to look forward to.
