Beyond the Dawn

Today I’m posting another article for the weekend challenge from “Weekly Prompts”, which is: Up and Down. Please go over and visit their fabulous site by clicking >>Here .    My response below is a poem inspired by being able to venture out for a daily walk and observing the sky above…..

Beyond the Dawn

On my walks, of ups and downs

I do gaze at our covering crown

Yesterday I saw our cloudy sky

That darkening sea of grey

Today between whispering puffs

I saw an ocean of blue tufts

Tomorrow I wonder about the sun

Beyond the dawn of what’s to come

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. Thank you Brandi… And I think our surroundings and nature are always talking to us, if we slow down, listen and observe…. as per my favourite phrase…”I can see the universe in a blade of grass”

      1. That is very true. I always say there is a lot of wisdom to be learned from nature. Sometimes we learn something about ourselves, if we’re attentive enough. You’re very welcome, my friend. Hope you enjoyed your Easter. 🙂
