Full Circle (Again)

Full Circle

Autumn leaves are falling

But there you are, stoically flowering

Despite a dry season of suffering

You’re proudly alive and thriving

What is it?

Is it a notion? To defy nature’s calling

What is it?

Is it a potion? To help those surviving

Are you the antidote?

For healing the dying

Have you an answer?

To resuscitating the living

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. This could be written for one of my rose bushes, she flowers all through winter, and nothing in the summer. She used to get it right but now she is all topsy turvy with seasons.

  2. Oh, what a wonderful poem, Ivor!
Yes, we must follow nature’s cue! The answers are there. It’s a matter of finding them. Being content with them.
Nature certainly gives us joy and hope, even in the darkest of times.
