I’m not one, to feel depressed
This is more an aura, of been oppressed
Bones are aching
Muscles are throbbing
And I feel like I’ve run a marathon
But I’ve hardly ventured out into the fray
Here I am in isolation
Wondering about the sun’s X-rays
I’m not one, to feel depressed
This is more an aura, of been oppressed
I’ve a thumping headache
My misty eyes are tired
And I feel like I’ve rewritten the Bible
But I’ve only been writing a poem a day
Here I am in isolation
Wondering about my future’s stairway

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

we’ll all be out and about one day, just have to take our time holed up now, in order to be out again later, otherwise there is no later. it’s hard in the meantime, though.

The exhaustion is super crazy. I don’t move and yet I am tired. It’s weird. ๐ฆ
Anyway, Ivor I hope you find some energy soon. We are in this together.

Yes Sameera, it’s definitely a crazy feeling, I’ll be ok, I was just trying to explain the feeling…. and I’ve spoken to lots of people in isolation… and they all experience the tiredness…..xx

Sometimes, it’s, easier, to just, not notice, it makes us feel, less impacted by, what’s, currently, going on, in this, world…

You are not alone, Ivor. I think we all feel this way.
It’s a vicious circle…the emotions we are feeling impact our bodies and the lack of sleep or too much sleep impacts our emotions
But, we will all keep finding things to do to smile! ๐
Great poem we can all relate to! ๐

YES! to the tiredness. Not having the routine of getting up and going, then coming and going, the movement. It’s all exhausting.

This malaise is really common I think but especially after everything you’ve been through. You’re still healing. Be gentle with yourself. Rest often. If you have Audible I’d love to loan you a book that is giving me answers to health problems that have been going on all my life – since childhood. *hugs* โฅ.

I love that this is a recurring verse in your poem Ivor and i also love the idea it is trying to convey…
I think at some point we all feel tired simply for being tired..
Hang on there Ivor and keep safe..sending you lots of love and sunshine๐๐๐

An aching body, a headache coupled with fatigue is one of the Coronavirus symptoms . The varied symptoms do not occur the same in every person. Perhaps you should be telling someone other than us.

Hey, Sue!
Just wanted to let you know I’ve left two comments on your most recent blog post and they never show up on your comment page.
Just wanted you to know that I’m reading and commenting, but not sure where the comments disappear to.
Some of the comments people have left me on my blog posts have gone into Spam the past week and I’ve had to retrieve them.
HUGS and hope you are well! ๐

I found one yesterday in the Spam and replied to you.I will have another look. WordPress seems to be going a bit strange lately.
Yes I am well thank you, hope all is well with you too. Thank you, Carolyn xx ๐

Yes, it has been strange.
Maybe it’s a sign I need to take a WP break. ๐

I just checked.
My list of comments for each day, on the right hand side of my Reader Page says I haven’t had a comment back from you in 4 days. It was a comment you left for me on Peter’s blog about all of his moves…sharing with me about his older posts.
So, WP is really messed up. Ha. Maybe it got a virus. ??? ๐ฎ

(((Ivor))) I hope you are much better by the time you read this. Isolation is not fun in any guise but isolation with physical and emotional ailments is god-awful. I am thinking of you every day.

I feel so much like you, my friend. Tired for no reason. You at least write a poem a day. Iโm trying to either research my places or write about them day by day. Never used to drain me. Maybe I need a piรฑa colada to help me write!
