Blue Sky Moon

Blue Sky Moon

I do wonder why

In our blue daylight sky

You are wandering there

Giving us your half stare

From your comfy afternoon chair

And not your usual midnight glare

You, our beaming day time Moon

With your cultured silver spoon

Are you able to save us soon?

From our poisoned gloom

You, being so open and brave

Without the cover of your shadowed wave

Have you the united power source?

And the cunning of a Trojan Horse

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

      1. It spread here too quickly from our neighbours in Europe.
Before the lockdown Cheap travel meant people were back and forth all the time!

The majority have done well with social distancing, but as always there are exceptions and every country has them; remember the beaches? America, Australia and England people just ignored common sense!
Fortunately, that’s in the past, TV humiliation works wonders and our beaches just have dog walkers now.

Having past the peak a couple of weeks ago we’re on a downward turn, but it’s early days.

      2. He does not. He’d much rather say how many HE is saving! HE’s not saving anyone, it’s those with common sense that are saving themselves.

      3. I know just what you mean. And could you possibly imagine any other developed country where some its people take to the streets because they are being asked to stay at home to prevent a killer virus from spreading?
Such a large country is bound to have more than it’s share of those who are ‘mentally challenged’ it’s even led by one, but I never realised the full extent until now.
Maybe those rumours about in-breeding in the Trump States are true after all! Now that would explain a lot! 😂

  1. The moon is rarely shy 😉 and expresses a lot of faces and emotions. I’m so glad we get to commune with it every night.
Your words ABOUT the sky and moon, and your words TO the sky and moon, are a joy to read. They get my brains thinking and my emotions emoting. 🙂
    (((HUGS))) 🙂

  2. Although seeing the moon and the sun in the sky at the same time is a, surely, magical and stunning sight – revealing much more about our place in the solar system than any book – I am mystified why this (common) phenomena doesn’t have a proper name or even seem to garner more interest. A Blue Sky Moon is as good as any (better than many). Thank you, Ivor.
    Stay ace.

      1. Yes that’s very clear. I love gazing at the moon. It was in the sky earlier along with the setting sun. I’ve penned a verse on this phenomenon myself too. I love the sense of mischief in your poem.
