Tullawalla #17, My Shangri La

Hello dear readers and followers. Over the weekend, I’ve been arduously preparing and typing madly, to produce my Seventeenth Tullawalla Poetry Booklet….. A significant number for me, as Carole’s birthday falls on the 17th, and for some reason I’ve found this production, a very emotionally trying and tiring experience…. maybe it’s time for me to quit !!…Anyhow, for new readers that don’t know about these booklets, they are basically the reason why I write poetry. I produce the booklets for the sole purpose of raising funds for my favourite charity organisation, the MS Society, in Australia via the MS Charity Shop here in Geelong. And actually all money’s I receive for any of my poetry .via, submissions, I donate to the MS Society….  I’m proud to announce, that the sale of my “Tullawalla Booklets”, have now gone pass $1200.00, …  to all the lovely readers, who have donated, to help achieve such a wonderful amount,  a big heartfelt thank you, from “us” and the MS Society … …..Amazingly, there is now a total of  “693 poems”, in my collection of 17 Tullawalla Booklets. This booklet is finally completed, and ready for sale now !! As always, they are available for purchase, either as a hard copy or a PDF format….. All proceeds go to the MS Charity Shop, here in Geelong West….. Please contact me here through my website page and I can chat about arrangements from there…. Oh, the booklet is called “Tullawalla:  “My Shangri La”…. maybe my final resting place             …. And here is the link to my website >> https://ivors20.wordpress.com

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. Congrats on your 17th poem book, Ivor! I know it’s a lot of emotional work to put together, and just work-work…but so well worth it!

The cause you support is such a personal one to you…and so important to the world!
I’ve had several friends with MS.
Thank you for giving in such wonderful ways to help others!

    Keep enjoying your Shangri La.

    1. Thank you Carolyn, and I seemed to be stressing of this one, ….. I think this virus situation weighs heavily with me, … knowing people with MS, are in that vulnerable bracket of being susceptible to the virus……
I’m playing the Kinks Shangri La song lots tonight, to help me keep smiling….. 😀😊((hugs))

      1. Yes, I understand. I’ve had so many people on my mind who already had struggles with their health, or finances, etc., and now things are even harder for them. 😦

Yes, let the music keep you company and bring you smiles! 🙂

  2. So nice of you! I’ve been in a financial depression so I haven’t been able to make donations or spend money with my current budget (I pay all my own bills). I won’t be broke forever but until my ride is paid off near the end of the year I have to be frugal. Just letting you know why I haven’t been able to buy any of your books. You are an excellent writer.
