G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Oh… You’re starting to keep Ivor’s hours…. my adrenaline is still pumping after spending so much energy on my Tullawalla booklet,…. they are emotionally trying and tiring on my system… 🌃😊💙🌏
Sometime we become overwhelmed with life and all seems dark we need to close our eyes to refocus. You have been writing so much these days and it is full of love always. Our Lord is ever watchful to make sure we do not exceed our energy limits. Let the Light flow in and relax and energise once more. Beautiful work. I have many wrestless nights it is the change which is moving in the heavens opening up more to come to our aide.
I feel the changes in my soul, and so I’ve had to write about them as they’re occurring,… maybe I’ll rest a bit for a week,… after I spent so much energy on my Tullawalla booklet, I’m feeling quite drained…. and that is what my poem was about,… my spirits are telling me not to keep trying to save/help the world… Mother Nature will take over… so I’m to sit back and relax a bit more… 🌃💙🌏
Very true, we all have to relax a bit more, we feel there is an urgency to do more but it is not required. The heavens have opened a Gateway the Divine is coming through more forcefully now to aid Mother Earth – she is powerful in her own right. Take care and allow yourself to heal .
Thank you Sue, one those 3.30am poems, I had a very restless night, and I just had to write these thoughts down while they flying around in my head. 💭✈️📝🤔
A very heart-touching poem, Ivor!
And the word-pictures you created are vivid!
We have to have those breaks where we just breathe, and be…getting rest and renewal…letting the weight of the world go for awhile.
We cannot save the world, even if we want to. We help where and when we can.
And you must take care of yourself. Please.
(((HUGS)))
Thank you Carolyn… I’ll need to rest for a couple of days….. my adrenaline was pushing me… especially with all the energy I put into my Tullawalla booklet…. I think I hit the limit button….. And my poem here was my soul telling me to ease up a bit and relax….. as you know, I pour my emotions into my work, …. I can’t explain how everything feels in my heart… anyhow I’ll rest up for a couple of days… 🙂🤨💙🌏
Ivor – this was the message I needed to hear today. There are so many awful things happening (at least in my part of the world) – it’s making my head spin and my heart hurt. Your poem is a good reminder that we can’t do it all and that there is another greater power who can handle it. We just need to wait for the doves to deliver the message. Thank you for pushing yourself with these bursts of inspiration and creativity! I hope you’re resting well today knowing how your words have touch my heart and many others. ❤
Hi Irma, I hope you’re staying safe. The news reports we’re getting in Australia are confusing and conflicting, considering that the virus outbreak is no where near being under control over there.
But like I said in my poem, we are not here to fix the world,…
Look after yourself and your family….
My poem is one where I had a serious talk to myself, and I had to realise that I am not a messiah, just a mere mortal with an emotional and compassionate heart… So I must take stock of myself and protect my own heart… I can be my own worst enemy…. I’m going to have a rest for a couple of days…
Please be careful and most all be patient,…. unlike that of the many ignorant and arrogant people over there at the moment (with seemingly backing from a very deficient President)
Take care Irma, ((hugs)) from Ivor 💙🌏
Your assessment of the USA is quite accurate. As is your assessment of yourself, and all of us really who are compassionate humans. Have a good rest, Ivor! I shall be doing the same. Hugs and love to you, dear man! ❤️
Thank you Eugenia, an expression of my confused and tired mind, and how an emotional and compassionate bloke like me, has ease up a bit, and let the gods of nature take their course… 💙🌏😂
I am glad you are relaxing Ivor.. I had a bit of stress today but I am calmer this afternoon…. looking forward to just kicking back this evening… love to you… ❤

I love the last line, Ivor. Kind of sums up life and our feeble attempts to salvage something good out of the bad. I love your poem! 🙂
