Above Cloud Nine

After the cold winter blizzard

There appeared the Snow-lord wizard

Upon a frozen moment in time

Atop icy alpine trees standing in line

Guarding the pure white mountains of rhyme

Home to the forest fairy’s sacred shrine

Their crystal palace above cloud nine

Where divine echos of prayers are in decline

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. Divine echos of prayers are in decline! I love that line but I can’t help thinking that in recent months, more people have offered silent prayers than ever before.

  2. This carried me away to a wonderful place!
And I can feel the chill!
But, you, and your words, are a sweet warmth, Ivor!

PS…I think people should be willing to be the answer to the prayers… put our hearts, hands, feet, resources, helpfulness, etc., to be an answer for those crying out for them.
