G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

I figure it’s the darkness’s job to put out the light, but we won’t let that happen. Every time we choose love in our words, thoughts, and actions, we light up the world. Love is infinitely stronger than hate, but it is very quiet I think. “Small acts with great love…” really do change the world. If you ever feel like getting a break from all the bad on the entertainment channels that call themselves “news” “check out Karunavirus.org – I am one of their copywriters and scouts. “Karuna” means “compassion” in Sanskrit. The stories are so full of love and light, Ivor. It will really lift your spirits. *hugs* Thanks for sharing your thoughts in beautifully creative ways every day. I always enjoy visiting with you. β₯.
Thank you Niki for your lovely comments. and for the link to have a look at. I don’t watch much TV… my writings come what I feel and see in my heart, my heart is my compass that points my pen onto the notepads blue lines… πππ³
Sunday 8.00am here, and I’m just awake, wow.. another 10 hour sleep… I’m ok.. but the incident has definitely been very tiring/trying on my system…. πππ€
Keep taking one day at a time and get your rest.
So many health issues leave us feeling weary for days or weeks afterwards. π¦
Even after my pain issues get under control I feel like I have a residual weary feeling for days…kind of like a pain “hangover” if that makes any sense. ???
(((HUGS)))
Yes… by dividing the nation, he seeks votes, between greed and compassion…..and I’m afraid these days, greed seems to be a huge part of human nature……xx
Scathing poem, Ivor – and I mean that in the very best way! Your clever words ring so true!! I think penguin is my new favorite insult (although they are kind of cute with their waddle – I bet they can make it down stairs better than you know who can).
I was going to use ‘dragon with two heads’, but I think a penguin in his suit seems to paint a more solemn impression… And thank you for appreciating the forthright impact of my words β₯βΊπ
I’d rather my poem wasn’t so true Punam, it saddens me to see such a great pretender a the helm of the most important job of the free world πππ
Oh, this says it so well

When I looked at the photo I was a little confused as to where this was as the white shed looks like another state home which is also a devils’ chasm.
We need a strong compass so we do not get lost along the way, one which can navigate through the lies and illusions.

It is best to look to the Lord for direction even if it is just a step at a time. At least it is step of truth.
