G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

you are floating, until you’re ready to paddle again
Ivor, these are beautiful verses! Melodious rhyme pattern. Lovely, dream-like quality. I hope you are not as melancholy as this poem, though. Try to find something enjoyable to do. “This too shall pass!” All the best! Cheryl
I think you live on the border of that deep inner creative ocean Ivor.. sometimes floating sometimes drifting while waves of poetry appear for you to scribe.. β€
Yes its so grey and overcast here today Ivor… I find my energy lower on days without sun.. I think we are in for another heavy weather weekend… I do miss the Sun … hope you have a good walk
You’ve inspired me to say, we WILL keep moving forward…even on the dark days. π
I think it’s cool that it might be Joan of Ark rowing! I want to believe that! π
I love Jennifer and Mr. Cohen’s voices together! Always a beautiful blend! π And THAT song always gets me teary-eyed. π
We are all poised waiting for a change to come along, if it ever will. We are all afloat with no anchor to ground us as we spin out in the storm of this life.
Yes Nanette, we are all waiting for something to happen, and that’s the anxiety of the situation, waiting, while the weight of the pandemics invisible cloud keeps pushing us down, like extra lumps of gravity on our backs πππβπ₯

Yes you might be right Deb.. Although it’s time to put down my pen and go for a walk, a few light showers, but I should be ok.. ππ§ππ

Great Questions Ivor! Perhaps no one is rowing at all!!? These days of Covid i wonder who is paddling the boat… or is the big boat paddling us!
