The Old Song Went Wrong

The Old Song Went Wrong

I’m as patient as the moon’s sand

But some things I’ll never understand

My list is too long …

I’ve too many old songs

Melodies played out wrong

Why do I have to stay strong?

I don’t like this new song

My words of reality don’t belong

And ancient honesty has gone

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. Aw, we understand, Ivor. You are not alone.
And oh, gosh, you are a very patient person…so you’ll be okay.
Some day we will look back on this time in our lives and be grateful for all the joy we found (amidst the chaos) and the dear friends who helped us through. πŸ™‚
When the “new songs” are not cutting it…I rely on the songs that have been the soundtrack-of-my-life to keep me company and give me comfort and joy! πŸ™‚
    HUGS!!! πŸ™‚
PS…That is one of my fav songs! And the vid is so uplifting! πŸ™‚

    1. Hello Carolyn thank you for all your beautiful words… and yes I’ll be ok…..my Carole taught me to be patient and have tolerance and courage…. oh. ..I couldn’t go past the song for this little reflective poem, ..and yes this version I found is definitely uplifting, and I cried when his son’s were singing… precious.. ((Hugs))

    1. The new WP is a bit cumbersome Colleen, I’ve been battling with it for a few days…. I’m old and slow on a computer at the best of times.
…I’ll get there, in the end…. because that’s what I’ve had to do with computers… just bumble may through with persistence and stupidity
      Best of luck Colleen πŸŽˆπŸŒπŸ€
