Earlier today I was having an on-line video chat with my niece Kerri, in Philadelphia, and during our conversation, we often mentioned, how the world was going “crazy”. So here’s my “crazy” poem, inspired by my “crazy” Philadelphia relatives, Kerri, Joanne and Ken….
Half Normal and Half Crazy
The day’s cold and breezy
Phillip the penguin is going crazy
Excitedly clapping his wings
Waiting for our luncheon fling
He’s jumping and shouting
“We are going on an outing !!”
Despite our masks and the pouring rain
Time has come to leave our quarantine
And savour a fluffy carrot cake again
Drink hot coffee and fizzy champagne
Drown these hazy days of feeling lazy
And resurrect ourselves from going completely crazy

Ivor, I’m glad to hear you are back at your favorite haunts again even though the weather wasn’t too cooperative! The carrot cake looks appealing. ❤ I enjoyed the cheerful poem. 🙂 Take care, Cheryl

It is necessary to get out and about in all this craziness. Even your penguin thinks so. Glad you had a nice outing and I hope the cake was wonderful. Great poem Ivor!

Thanks Dwight, and I’m going there again today…. apparently when I was there 8 weeks ago , they inadvertently charged me for a meal that that had already been paid for by a friend that I was chatting with… and the wonderful owner generously paid for my lunch yesterday, and invited to enjoy another free coffee and cake today.. wow.. I offered to pay, but they wouldn’t take my money…. 😀😊

Now that is a great place to go. Buy and eat local. They say dollars spent on small businesses cycle through the local economy seven times! Big box stores drain it all out!

Yes definitely shop local, and getting to know the friendly owner is a wonderful bonus…

I am pleased Philips is keeping you in order it helps to have a friend in all this craziness. Carrot cake another favourite of mine. The video was very meaningful and uplifting, having faith to go with the flow. Blessing you.

I enjoyed your crazy poem and I’m delighted that you were able to go back to your favourite cafe.
I’m getting very brave, I actually went out to the shops yesterday, but I was so relieved to get back home again, I did not enjoy being amongst other people. 🙂

Thank you Sue…. I think that makes us almost opposites Sue….. although in the crowd situations, I am very careful… and I am comfortable at my Cafe…. they run their establishment strictly and safely by rules…

I had an appointment in the nearby market town of Otley and while there I popped to a small supermarket.
I’m just relieved that since the pandemic began I’ve not had to do my own shopping. I felt very uncomfortable being amongst other people.
I’ve been to a restaurant with Joss, the tables were placed far apart, the staff wore masks and we were given hand gel to use as we entered the building. I was comfortable with that arrangement. 🙂

Yes … I go to the supermarket when they are out of peak/busy times….

That’s wise of you.
I parked at this supermarket so I could walk through the lovely old churchyard to my appointment nearby and I discovered that shopping in person has a bad effect on my purse (or card) I spend more! 😂

Brilliant description of the craziness that Covid 19 has wrecked on our lives. SA is non Level 1 of lockdown now and we have been able to go out and about for quite a while, even though the number of Covid 19 cases here are increasing. Economy before health and lives seems to be the leading theme. My family don’t go out except to shop for food. Stay safe and keep well and crazy!
