Time on the Moon With a Tea and Lime



now and then

I see the sunrise again

sip on tea and lime

and dream for a time



where are you old friend

hiding your face until the end

and I hear a distant tick-tock

buried under weathered rock



when it’s all said and done

my words fall one by one

inking blues, line after line

and I care not the time



and sand flows drop by drop

from the timeless clock

touching her silent cocoon

on the far side of the moon

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS.       1. Our cabin and the enclave that it is in was somehow saved. The fire is still going but in backcountry. Recent high winds are scaring the hell out of everyone. But no new fires today. Cross your fingers.

    Great poem Ivor. You are right when writing time becomes secondary!
    I enjoyed the Kinks… first time I ever heard them!! LOL

Oh Dwight, I shall have to educate you about the Kinks, and one of the greatest songwriters of all time in Ray Davies… And in the poem, I was trying write one for the theme of ‘Time’, which is the topic Vita Brevis upcoming Anthology, and I’m happy with this one, I might submit this poem, we are allowed to submit pieces.. 😁🌏

    1. Thank you for your Kind comments, and I’m so pleased my poem is receiving good reviews, as It’s one of my poems I’m submitting to Vita Brevis Magazine for their annual Anthology, and theme is ‘Time’….
