G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Very nice, though I would not run away from a full or blue moon I would embrace it’s energy. 🌕
Yes Nanette that’s what I need to do… although it’s a beautiful sunny day here in Geelong, and a trip to my cafe, for a coffee and cake will have to be my piece of escapism today
Yes, do watch it. It’s a lovely animated film, it’s about how an old guy coped after the death of his wife. It not how it sounds, it’s a feel good family film. 🙂
78-year-old balloon salesman Carl Fredricksen is about to fulfill a lifelong dream, one that was meant to include his late wife. Tying thousands of balloons to his house, he flies away to the South American wilderness. But curmudgeonly Carl’s worst nightmare comes true when he discovers a stowaway aboard: a Boy Scout named Russell.
What an appealing thought Ivor… maybe you could find a deserted island loaded with fresh fruit and endless clean sparkling water, far from human disease… but – 0f course – with internet access 🙂
Broken wrist ?? ouchie… I’m going ok except for living with the extra piece of Covid gravity that seems to be weighing everyone down… not depressed … but oppressed… 🙄
Wonderful poem, Ivor. I can relate. You expressed all of this so well.
No matter what tries to keep us “earth-bound”, weighed down…we MUST keep floating, flying, soaring to places (outward and inward) that bring us joy!
(((HUGS))) 🙂

Oh how I would love to fly away and runaway from all of this. It is becoming too much. Fly in balloon across the skies floating freely.

Your blues moon and the big blue moon last night fit together very well. Sailing… ah what a thrill that would be!!

Sometimes I have the urge to throw caution to the winds, go out to eat, get my hair cut, go to the beach, but I resist. It does wear a person down. ❤
