Yesterday I celebrated Oaks-Day and wore vivid pink
Who cares what the other guys think
Today I’ve dressed myself in white
Because my mood is happy and bright
Tomorrow I’ll look like a “Kiwi All-black”
To match the colour of my hat
No matter how we feel on the day
We all like to wear a different coloured display
So what’s so different about our outer coverings
To the way we express our skins colourings ??
Today’s poem is a copy of a comment that I wrote to Kate, of ‘CalmKate’, about her thought provoking poem “Colour”, https://aroused.blog/2020/11/06/colour/ , and big thank you to Kate for encouraging me to post my little anecdote as a poem on my site.

Oh… Kates poem inspired me Dwight, and she insisted that I post my comments to her… haha, one of those little anecdotes that I do…

Your poem would have fit right into our d’Verse Poets Pub prompt yesterday! It was an interesting one.

Good for you, Ivor: wear what you like and don’t worry about what anyone thinks!! A lovely poem.

Thank you Ingrid, it doesn’t matter what we wear, but people worry about the colour of the skin we wear 😊🤔

Well these people have a problem, unfortunately.

Looks like half of America has a problem… The closeness of the vote is disappointing… racism is rife…

It’s horrible, isn’t it? To vote for such an openly racist candidate says a lot about the voters and how far the Civil Rights movement hasn’t come since the days of Martin Luther King.

I’m almost in shock… Trump played to racist voters like an uncaring business Mogul that he is !!
