Primates Wearing Bibs and L-plates

We’ve been plodding in waterlogged boots

Even neighbours heard the squelch over the owl hoots

Daily we waded among flooding restrictions

But those wet chains were sad afflictions

Full of overflowing mistakes and contradictions

Stay true to your imaginations predictions

Ignore the backstabbers and haters

About time they removed their bibs and L-plates

Gargled their foul voices and cleaned the slates

About time they stopped acting like scared primates

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. Yes I suppose my words drifted a bit… It’s about how we cope with Covid, and then there’s those selfish fools, that haven’t learnt that it takes teemwork and community participation to get us out of this mess… Stop acting like spoilt brats and ignorant individuals… and Trump was very good at inciting the masses against minority groups.. and using them as scapegoats, in the same way Hitler used the Jews to take the attention away from the real problems at hand πŸ€”πŸ˜Š whoops I’m getting carried away ☺

    1. I suppose you’ve plenty of those idiots over there too, that don’t understand the seriousness of situation, and are too selfish and too scared, to be, kind, considerate, and tolerant during these tough time for everyone….

    1. Haha, it’s good for me to explain some of my abstract poems, because sometimes I’ve forgotten what I was trying to say… I’ve so many thoughts flying around in my head, I tend to lose the plot…

  1. Time, indeed! Way past time! ( I think they have been way worse than any primate. You might need to apologize to primates! πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜€ I love primates! Did you know that mother Orangutans will stay with and mother their babies for 8 years! Loving them and teaching them how to survive. πŸ™‚ )

Perfect photo, poem, song trio, Ivor! πŸ™‚

It’s always a good time for some love, respect, compassion, unity, understanding, ETC! πŸ™‚

    1. Yes I did apologise to them, in a reply I sent to Eugenia… Yeah the photo I constructed myself out of 3 other pic’s, and stuck them together for the scan. πŸ˜‰
The song is Hanna Kah’s brand new, out yesterday, she sent it to me last night via her FB… and it seemed to fit my poem.. so I’ve sent my post to her in Germany. I’m sure she will appreciate all the extra airplay.. πŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺπŸ’™πŸŒπŸŽˆπŸ’šπŸŽΊ
