G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

If this poem is about who I think it is then I say, Bravo Ivor!! Also – I LOVE these pictures of all your poetry on the wall. Is this at the cafe that you frequent? I’m surprised there’s room left for the macrame hangings with your prolific accomplishments! π
No not my cafe … My verandah walls, which are decorated with my published poems, Carole’s macrame, and nostalgic ‘nic-nacs’…. .. my writers little haven… π
I did! I did! π YAY!!! π
And this was a fun poem to read out loud! π
Seeing Carole on your beautiful memory wall made me smile and get all teary-eyed. π
Good to see Mr. L. Cohen, too. π
(((HUGS))) π
Haha…. this morning I took a few photos of my verandah wall, and I was going to write a poem about my nostalgic wall display, and the opening 2 lines flowed easily….
” The writing is on the wall
Did you see the words fall?”
then all of a sudden my thoughts completely changed direction… and zappoo, !!… they before me, a poem appeared “A Snowman Falls”…. don’t ask me how things happen…. because I’ve no answers…!!πππ
Oh yes, I heard the mighty clang! π

I hope I wasn’t being too disparaging … I’m only an observer from Australia… But the ‘Clang’ did have a good ring to it πππ½

A space where I relax, and spent time when, “my empty hands are full, of memories and rhymes”

Said snowman hung out in the freezer for a few days, but he seems to be back with a chilly blast…Wish he’d stay on the golf course indefinitely!
Loved your poem, the recording, and your memory wall!
