Revolving

Time is tiresome, here loafing around

Best I search for my chi at lost and found

I need a reliable Puffin’ Billy

To find a track that’s not too hilly

Heading towards a time and place

Where my mind can safely settle and touch base

While our new revolution replays the old collections

Of peace, love, and compassion without interjections

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. A wonderful trio…photo, poem, song, Ivor! πŸ™‚

The images you created in your poem are wonderful!

Love those times and spaces where our minds and hearts can be at peace… πŸ™‚ …and often it involves listening to music. πŸ™‚

    Puffin’ Billy… a train, right?!
I, also, remember a song called Puffin’ (or Puffing ) Billy.

    1. Yes, the song is fantastic, and matched my little poem so well… We have a train up in mountains, it’s a scenic trip and the little engine is called “Puffin’ Billy”
Thank you for appreciating this thought provoking piece.
May peace and unity continue to flourish and regrow

  2. Very well written Ivor. This morning I’m listening to Star Wars composed by John Williams (the latest three movies – 7, 8, and 9 in the series). I own all nine soundtracks and love to listen to them. Have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend! πŸ™‚

    1. Yes it’s a great song Dwight, with astrong message… Again one of my short poems… sometimes I think I should expand on my theme, but like your paintings, “leave well enough alone” 😊
