Today I’m presenting the other poem that I wrote at the poetry forum held on Sunday, a “Writing Circle”, hosted by Ali Grimshaw.

The Ordinary
Looking out my window
I hear, the wind blowing
I see, the sun glowing
I smell, the garden flowers
Suddenly there’s a thud
On the roof above
A branch from my neighbour’s tree
Landed on my verandah
Curiosity drags me outside
No obvious damage done
I smile and say “Hi”
To my courtyard garden
And the flowers respond
“Good morning Ivor”
Ivor Steven (c) Nov 2020

Ivor, this is beautiful. I am glad your flowers speak kindly to you! ❤ Stay safe and be happy!

Thank you Cheryl, I’m so pleased you enjoy this one… which was the piece I wrote in our first “5 minute” writing session… and this is it, word for word… Cheers, Ivor

My on-line poetry meeting, proved to be a productive forum for me… and I’ve already made contact with my new WP friends… and this “5 min” poem is as I wrote it during the event.. 😊🌏
And of course Erika’s special voice to go with my special poem.. 💙🌏

That is some floral wake up call!
I’m amazed how you managed to write this in just five minutes. I would still be staring at the paper.🙂💐

The branch wasn’t as big as the sound of the thud …

I am glad your roof survived the roof. The flowers must have enjoyed the new shade. Very nice poem, Ivor!

Simple daily miracles we see everyday but so few notice the splendor. Pleased the branch did not cause much damage but still you took it all in your stride.
