The Faerie Shelter

The Faerie Shelter

Beyond the hands of time

In a garden of parsley, sage, and thyme

Live faeries of magic and rhyme

Dancing in the midnight faerie pantomime

Under the moonlight they rollick and roam

Among reeds of the field-mouse’s old home

Where Oscar the owl broods atop his mushroom

And the dragonfly Danielle hovers above Alex the gnome

He is the courtyard’s guardian colossus

Who proudly shelters Saraswati the Hindu goddess

And she dutifully protects the shy penguin Phillip

The humblest faerie of them all, but he stands tall in spirit

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. Thanks Sue .. one of my little escapism pieces, while I was having brekkie under my verandah and enjoying a morning chat with my imaginary faerie friends… and I said to them, “I was writing a poem about you guys” anyhow, they all nodded and graciously smiled… πŸ˜ŠπŸ§πŸ¦‰πŸ¦‹πŸŒπŸ‘Έ
