I wrote this poem after reading Ali Grimshaw’s post/poem this morning, and as I sometimes do, I commented on her piece with a poetic anecdote. You can view Ali’s site and poem via clicking on this link >> https://flashlightbatteries.blog/2020/12/05/weather-forecast-poem-by-ali-grimshaw/
Yesterday’s Storms
today words fell off the weatherman’s chart
some misty clouds with rainbow arcs
there will be windy circles and sunny parts
dotted isobars will blow over old landmarks
bringing bold fronts and false starts
with possible heavy rain and lightning darts
and yesterday’s storms were pieces of dark art
that passed through our hearts
Ivor Steven (c) December 2020

Every will blow over, and become nothing more, than a fading, memory, if we allow it to…

Simple is my preference. A poem should flow. Some poems are like complex puzzles that need to be read multiple times, a dictionary in hand! Reading them is a very different experience. 🙂

Haha… my dictionary is far to big to use when reading in bed…. 😀☺

Today was the first time i had seen this video of Van Morrison’s classic song… I found it by accident,.. and when I was watching it, I immediately became engrossed, and no hesitation in posting the video with my article…

Your photo, your amazing poem, and that song/vid are a perfect trio, Ivor! 🙂
You have brought joy and warmth and smiles to my day! 🙂
The word-pics and emotions in this poem are vivid…and we can all relate to it…it helps us. A good reminder that the storms will pass…and we can learn so much from the storms and from our reactions to the storms.
Wishing you a brand new day with bright sun, a gentle, breeze, blue skies, and dancing cotton-clouds, Ivor…outside in nature and inside in your beautiful heart!
(((HUGS))) 🙂

Thank you dear Carolyn for your thoroughly uplifting comments…haha.. spent the day stuck inside, because of the cold, wet, and windy summer’s day. But still enjoyed my day, I wrote this poem, which seems to be a really good one, I had a lovely live hook up with Gina in Kuala Lumpur, and managed to get most of my exercises done… ((hugs)) 💙🌏 and wow my Ruby Red Geraniums are stunning. 💕

As soon as I saw the Geraniums with rain drops on them I could smell their beautiful perfume. Even if the weather is inclement it has its beauty. There are no rainbows without the storms and rain. Love the video too.

Thank you Nanette, yes, my Ruby Red Geraniums are stunning.. And I had to show them after the storm had passed through… and my poem was a natural progression. 💙🌏😊
