Memory Kisses (for Christmas)

Hello dear readers, here I am feeling nostalgic, yes it’s Christmas time, and I have too write a rhyme about how I feel inside… I am not sad, just a guy reminiscing… enjoy my words, and savour Damien Rice’s wonderful song….

Memory Kisses

A cool breeze caresses my open heart

An aura of warmth touches my lonely soul

Memory dust settles upon my empty lips

I cannot see her celestial star shine

But I sense her feathery kisses

As her spirit hovers above me for Christmas

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. AW! So beautiful! So sweet! This gets me all joy-teary-eyed! πŸ™‚ (Pass the tissues, Ivor! πŸ™‚ )
Rest in the warmth of your wonderful memories! Smile that Carole is still with you in spirit, and in your heart! Make it a merry Christmas in tribute and honor to her! ❀

    1. I’m not sure what to say Ingrid, but be pleased in the knowledge that I cried while I writing this little piece, not because I was sad… it’s just my memories are amazingly vivid and I’m simply an emotional guy… πŸ’™πŸŒ
