G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Haha! Very amusing poem. ๐ What a stash! You could throw a party!
Your misery has lots of company this time of year. My blood sugar went up a little bit and I have to get it down, so I am back on my usual very low carb diet.
Sweet, Sweet-Ivor!!! ๐
Ha! This is a yummy poem with delicious photos!
I’d put some of that in the freezer and eat later in the year. ๐
Fruit cake is one of the few cakes I love…and most people don’t even like fruit cakes. But, I didn’t get any this past Christmas. Darn. And I missed it. Thought about it. Drooled thinking about it. Ha! ๐ Yum. ๐ ๐
(((HUGS))) and Hang On!!! ๐
Haha… I’m pacing myself slowly and savouring every piece… piece by piece, morsel by morsel, crumb by crumb…. freezing some is not in the equation… and of course Carole loved fruit Cakes too…. which then had me reminiscing about the wonderful family Christmas festivities we did have… and today I wrote a poem ”We Always Did”…I didn’t mean too.. I wasn’t go too… but it happened… ๐๐๐๐ค๐ ((Hugs))
The cakes look fabulous and I believe Christmas and New Year are exceptions for indulging in sweets, chocolates and cakes. Enjoy and you can swim it off when the temperatures rise.

My sweet tooth is so large it takes up extra space in my thighs, belly, anywhere it can steal storage from. ๐
