A Brick Wall Comes Alive (Revisited)

During July last year, I had the pleasure of observing a creative piece  of street-artwork evolving on a corner shop wall, at nearby the ‘Box Office Cafe’, where I like to enjoy a coffee and cake…  The wonderful painting, inspired me to write this little poem… And today I am pleased to announce that the artwork by local artist Kirsten Walsh, has been shortlisted for the 2020 Australian Street Art Awards’ Best External Mural.

A Brick Wall Comes Alive

There, before my smiling eyes

An old brick wall comes alive

A colourful display, growing and flowing

There’s flowers and faces glowing

Within artistic creations of finesse

Upon every brush-strokes progress

The facade’s sharing her party dress

And she’s dancing in the streets to impress

  6. There is a resonance of regeneration and renaissance in the poem – an atmosphere of rebirth and relief reigns supreme in poetic lines giving every reader a sense of hope and rejuvenation. A great piece of artwork will always stand out! Congratulations to the poet personae!
