No Bouquets


The twenty eighth of May

The final day to escape Bombay

Leave behind the encroaching Doomsday

Breakaway the padlocked doorways

And seek unknown purified airways


Time to invest wisely in tomorrow’s causeway

Time to invent a new realistic screenplay

That includes the universe’s cabaret

And comprehends mother nature’s ways

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  6. Poignant and powerful, Ivor! Such a wonderful trio of photo, poem, and song.
    We must all keep caring for the world and for each other. Too often we can’t rely on gov’t’s or leaders to do the right things. So we must keep speaking up, standing up, getting involved, helping make positive changes.

  11. Escape. Yes! Hope it came to pass. Lovely poem. Thanks for sharing it. Spoke to me. (mine was also about flying the coop)
    BTW, the visitors flag counter is soooooo cool. When I start getting more visitors I will look into getting one too. *wink* Thanks. When the Japan flag appears on there, that will be MOI! Yay. Look for me… Thanks for this joy. In return, I wish you miracles.

Thank you for bringing my flag counter to my attention, and I hardly ever click on to the Icon Box .. and now you have made me have a look, … by clicking on the top right corner … See more >… and I have amassed 183 flags of different countries around the world … how many flags is there ??… and Japan is No. 67 on my list, with 31 visitors and ‘you’ today….
